Participation: As competition entry for Asus ProArtist Awards 2022 under Graphics-Design 06956
Inspiration: February 24, 2022 will be remembered for generations to come that Russia invaded Ukraine. Political situations that led to the invasion aside, this piece of work is first and foremost for all the Ukrainians who have to suffer because of this unnecessary war and our hearts are with them. Secondly, I hope we could remember through the artwork (and more like a lesson) that we should always “Give Peace a Try and Save the World”. With the recent developments in multimedia and technology, I also hope to add “life” to art, giving it the ability to communicate with the audience.

Inspiration: Metaverse is a huge “space”, short of a better word. Many say it encompasses the virtual reality, the augmented reality, and even the crypto world. It is a space currently “unseen” by many, yet where most would soon to be “living” in the near future. As we speak, many has as already bought real properties there. And interestingly, some has built art galleries in that space. This artwork places imagination of living in such a space. The lady in the picture is probably in a virtual reality museum, looking at a statue which could suddenly come alive together with the wall art (if viewed through your phone camera).

Inspiration: Metaverse is a huge “space”, short of a better word. Many say it encompasses the virtual reality, the augmented reality, and even the crypto world. It is a space currently “unseen” by many, yet where most would soon to be “living” in the near future. As we speak, many has as already bought real properties there. And interestingly, some has built art galleries in that space. This artwork places imagination of living in such a space. This picture shows a boy break dancing in such a virtual world. The unique part is that although the background of broken walls is virtual, the boy is not. He is an actual human being. This is sort of the collision between real and virtual realities, only that the boy is “real” over there in this instance. Also, what is the chance that the virtual reality is also contain broken-down places like our world?

And interestingly, some has built art galleries in that space. But how should we define or compare “Augmented Reality” (AR) with “Virtual Reality”(VR)? Whereas both Virtual and Augmented realities are man-made, some say they are complete opposite each other. In VR, we become the avatars entering to a virtual and unreal space whereas in AR the avatars are here in our real world. This artwork shows a girl avatar dancing in our real world. Hence, this is a seldom seen augmented art in itself.
